Studio Pacific Architecture and Design Scholarship 2023 Awarded to Breyton Mackey

We are thrilled to announce Breyton Mackey as the recipient of the inaugural Studio Pacific Architecture and Design korahipi. Breyton's innovative vision, dedication to Te Ao Māori, and community-focused approach have made him a deserving choice for the scholarship.

In 2022, Studio Pacific established an Architecture and Design Scholarship of $10,000 to support a student in their first year of study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation. The scholarship is awarded to an individual who has the potential to succeed in a design discipline, as demonstrated by their academic record, design portfolio, and other assessment criteria.

As part of our commitment to encourage diversity and inclusion within the architecture industry, this scholarship will enable emerging young architects to pursue their studies with less of a financial burden.

Managing Director Evžen Novák says, "At Studio Pacific we believe that diversity, inclusion, and collaboration are essential to the way we work. This is what brings richer innovative thinking and problem-solving to our projects within our communities. We are pleased to be supporting our next generation of design professionals, with Breyton an excellent example of what we need to see in the industry. We look forward to seeing what he does next."

Ngā mihi, Breyton! We wish you all the best as you embark on this exciting next step in your studies.
