Tākina – Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre has been shortlisted in The Building Space category of the prestigious international INDE Awards 2024.
Tākina was built to enable Wellington to attract international and domestic conferences and international exhibitions for the benefit of the city, region and country and to provide a place in which to meet, learn, and share the stories of the nation.
The INDE Awards celebrate the most progressive and inspiring buildings, spaces, objects, and people in the Asia-Pacific region. This year’s competition was highly competitive, with over 500 entries showcasing groundbreaking designs.
Being shortlisted places Tākina among 12 standout buildings from the Asia-Pacific region, a testament to its innovative design and exceptional construction. It is the only building from Aotearoa to be shortlisted in this category.
We extend our congratulations to all the other shortlisted projects and look forward to the final announcement of winners in August this year.
