International Men’s Day (IMD) is celebrated on 19 November every year and is marked in around 80 countries worldwide. The theme for 2024 is “Positive Male Role Models”.
International Men’s Day celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. This year we highlight positive role models and raise awareness of men’s well-being.
Beyond International Men’s Day, Studio Pacific continues to work towards creating a space where diversity and inclusion thrive. We recognise that fostering a culture of inclusion is not only the right thing to do but also essential for our success.
Inclusive workplaces are more innovative, creative, and better equipped to navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world. By championing inclusion, we can harness the full potential of diverse perspectives, leading to better decision-making and innovation.
At Studio Pacific, we take mental health very seriously and we are very aware that men face a series of health challenges that need to be addressed – current research tells us that men have a suicide rate 3 times higher than women.
In 2019, Studio Pacific established a group of Mental Health First Aiders to support well-being of our team and meet on a regular basis to discuss all things mental health in the workplace. Acknowledging important days such as International Men’s Day reminds us to raise awareness on men’s mental health and to tautoko (support) our male colleagues in creating a positive, encouraging and inclusive work environment where they feel valued and heard.
We are very fortunate at Studio Pacific to work with positive male role models who not only make great contributions to our Studio, but also contribute greatly to the wider community.
