Honouring Te Tiriti: Reflecting on Waitangi Day at Studio Pacific

Waitangi Day is a time to reflect on our shared responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how we uphold its principles in our mahi.

At Studio Pacific, we recognise that true partnership is something we live—through listening, learning, and embedding tikanga Māori within our practice.

To mark the occasion, Te Waharua, our internal working group dedicated to uplifting tikanga and te reo Māori, hosted a morning tea, bringing our team together in kōrero and reflection.

We were also pleased to welcome guests from TupuToa and acknowledge Eliana Brooking, who is currently undertaking an internship with LT McGuinness, supported by Studio Pacific. Nurturing the next generation of Māori and Pasifika talent is an important part of our ongoing commitment to fostering equity and representation within the industry.

Honouring Te Tiriti is not just about a single day of reflection—it is an ongoing responsibility that informs how we collaborate, design, and contribute to a built environment that reflects the diverse narratives of Aotearoa.

Ka whakanuia, ka whakanuitia, ā, ka whāia tonutia ngā mātāpono o Te Tiriti o Waitangi i roto i ā mātou mahi, hei painga mō ngā uri whakatipu.

We acknowledge, celebrate, and continue to uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in our work, for the benefit of future generations.
