Vote for Tākina in the World-Architects ‘Building of the Year’ Poll

Tākina, Wellington’s new convention and exhibition centre, has been included in the World-Architects ‘Building of the Year 2024’ poll. We’re thrilled to see it recognised alongside other incredible projects—find out more about the design and how you can vote to support it.

Tākina, Wellington’s new convention and exhibition centre, has been included in the World-Architects ‘Building of the Year 2024’ poll. This follows its feature as ‘Building of the Week’ last year, and it’s a great opportunity to showcase Wellington on a global stage.

A Bit About Tākina’s Design

Tākina was designed by Studio Pacific Architecture to reflect Wellington’s unique character. The building takes inspiration from the city’s natural environment and cultural heritage, with a striking façade that references the wild winds and rugged coastline, and thoughtfully designed interior spaces that feel welcoming and adaptable.

It’s also built with the future in mind, meeting Wellington’s unique seismic standards and incorporating sustainable features that make it fit for years to come. At its heart, Tākina is about connection—bringing people together for events, exhibitions, and conversations in a space that reflects our city’s innovative spirit.
