We’re pleased to share that the team behind Air New Zealand’s Hangar 4 has been named a finalist in the Best Team Award at the 2026 Property Council New Zealand Auckland Property People Awards.
The awards celebrate the people behind the projects shaping Tāmaki Makaurau, recognising the collaboration, leadership, and collective effort that bring significant projects to life.
Hangar 4 brought together a large and highly coordinated team to deliver a new 15,000m² aircraft maintenance facility within Air New Zealand’s operational engineering base at Auckland Airport. At its centre is a 98-metre clear-span timber structure, creating the largest single-span timber aircraft hangar in the Southern Hemisphere.
Delivering a project of this scale within a live airside environment relied on close collaboration between Air New Zealand, Studio Pacific, the consultant team, contractor NZ Strong, and specialist partners. The result is a facility designed around the people who use it every day, supporting aircraft maintenance and engineering while providing a safe, efficient, and considered workplace.
It’s particularly fitting to see the project shortlisted through an award programme that puts people and teamwork at its centre. Congratulations to everyone involved, and to all of this year’s finalists.
