Richard Beatson

Richard is a New Zealand Registered Architect with nearly 30 years of architectural experience.

He joined Studio Pacific in 2002, having previously worked with other notable Wellington practices. Richard was appointed Senior Associate in 2022 and has been the project lead and key contributor on many Studio projects.

With a broad knowledge of design and construction, Richard leads projects from the concept stage through to completion using practical and creative solutions. He has proven his creative and technical skills, gaining extensive and diverse experience across a range of commercial and residential disciplines and scales.

Richard maintains a specialist focus on bespoke residential work and sustainable design practices, striving to implement holistic and responsible ESD principles into all projects. He enjoys the process of crafting buildings with particular emphasis on efficiency, detailing, and artistry. He also has a strong interest in current prefabrication and insulation practices within the industry.

Recently, Richard has been working as project architect on bespoke single-family homes and medium-density housing developments around New Zealand.
