He ara mahi Careers

People are at the heart of Studio Pacific and we want our Studio kaimahi to thrive, not only professionally but personally too.

Studio Pacific is a people and design-led practice with skills and experience across a range of specialty areas including architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urban design and the business services professions. We are a creative, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary team, with a diverse portfolio of work across Aotearoa New Zealand. Our culture is vibrant and inclusive, where everyone contributes to the design process and Studio mahi. This is what drives our creativity and sparks innovation, creating even more opportunities to belong, learn and grow.

We have studios located in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington and Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and are always interested in hearing from talented individuals looking for their next career opportunity. If you don’t see a suitable vacancy, please send your letter of introduction, CV, and a small portfolio of work to people@studiopacific.co.nz.

Our working environment

At Studio Pacific, we approach everything we do with a deep level of care and respect for your personal needs and experience. You can sense it in our projects, our studios, and also in the ways we invest in our employees and look after them.

Studio Pacific offers a generous, friendly environment, with plenty of opportunities to relax and socialise. Morning tea is on us, 10:30am every day, along with weekly late-afternoon social gatherings. We sponsor sports teams and social clubs, celebrate significant events and personal milestones.

We are child-friendly, dog-friendly, and socially aware. Many say it’s the best place they have ever worked.

Wellbeing and work-life balance

We’re passionate about our work, yet we’re believers in taking time away to replenish. Whether you’re exploring personal pursuits, welcoming a new child, or caring for a whānau or community member, you’ll have our support when you need it most.

Everyone has different needs and schedules. At Studio Pacific, we value personal well-being and support a wide variety of working arrangements, including some work from home arrangements, part-time hours, flexible start and finish times, compressed work hours, extended parental leave, and return-to-work plans that put the focus on your needs.

Growth opportunities

Plan on developing both professionally and personally at Studio Pacific. Our weekly CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions cover a range of topics from Te Ao Māori to design innovation and technical expertise; and mental health strategies to unconscious bias training. Everyone is encouraged to present and share their experience with the team and we also invite external speakers to share their knowledge with us.

Further education and development is available through our training allowance, which is available to all employees. You can attend a conference, sharpen your skills, or discover a new talent and be reimbursed for career related expenses.

Diversity and inclusiveness

We are – and always have been – open, welcoming and inclusive. We believe these values are essential to the way we work, bringing richer innovative thinking and problem-solving to our projects and our communities. We want to ensure everyone who joins Studio Pacific feels a true sense of belonging, and feel valued and appreciated as individuals within our team. As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to providing a fair, inclusive and diverse workplace for all employees. This commitment is upheld through several diversity and inclusion initiatives including the Studio Pacific Architecture and Design Scholarship and our partnership with TupuToa.

Diversity Agenda Accord signatories

Studio Pacific is a proud founding partner of the Diversity Agenda and signatory to the Diversity Accord, which aims to achieve better gender balance and diversity in architecture and engineering. Our commitment is upheld through efforts such as inclusive hiring practices, flexible working arrangements, accountability, measurement, and professional development guidance.

Gender diversity and pay equity

We are committed to increasing representation and diversity across all parts of the business as well as achieving pay equity for male and female employees in similarly-sized roles, with similar skills, experience and accountabilities. We measure our progress and continue to take meaningful steps toward a more inclusive, equal and representative company. Studio Pacific publishes gender pay gap information publicly through the Mind the Gap initiative.
