Nick co-founded Studio Pacific Architecture in 1992 alongside Evžen Novák and Stephen McDougall. Having worked in Great Britain on projects in various countries, including Germany, France, The Netherlands, and Britain, Nick brings an invaluable international perspective to his work.
Nick has developed expertise in urban design, multi-unit housing, and urban regeneration, which has led to his role as an independent commissioner for architecture and urban design. He is involved in large-scale mixed-use greenfield and brownfield community projects across the country, working with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate infrastructure, urban design, landscape, and architecture. He is particularly interested in new forms of social, affordable, and market housing, with a focus on placemaking, sustainability, community engagement, and innovative solutions. Nick has a deep respect for Te Ao Māori and strives to meaningfully reflect mana whenua in design.
In addition to his architectural work, Nick is a painter and photographer and a Trustee of the Wellington Sculpture Trust. He brings a critical design eye to all his creative endeavours.
