Jonathan (Jon) is a New Zealand Registered Architect with 30 years of experience in the building industry.
Jon joined Studio Pacific in 2011 and has made significant contributions to the delivery of the studio’s aviation transport projects. Jon has also been involved in some of the more significant heritage projects in the practice, requiring a considered approach to complex seismic strengthening interventions while retaining the building's heritage values.
He has previously worked with several NZIA-registered practices in New Zealand and RIBA practices in the UK, as well as working as a sole practitioner. Jon is experienced in all aspects of project delivery and is broadly skilled, capable of delivering quality outcomes at all stages of the architectural process.
In addition to being a registered architect, Jon is a Trade Certified Carpenter & Joiner (City & Guilds UK). This hands-on knowledge gives him a well-rounded understanding of the rigours involved in combining design and construction processes to deliver finely crafted products.
Jon has a particular interest in environmentally responsible design and the use of appropriate materials and technology. This philosophy forms the foundation of his approach to all projects. Within Studio Pacific, Jon has led the establishment of the Sustainability Working Group and continues to contribute to the development and application of environmentally responsive initiatives. Inspired by sustaining our natural environment, simplicity of design, and attention to detail, he seeks to find inventive and adaptable solutions to any architectural challenge.
